LIFE + STYLE | MEGHAN MAHER

In the seventh edition of Life + Style, we catch up with Repertoire Director, Meghan Maher. From launching the business with her Mum and Lee at just 22, to growing with it over the past 19 years, Meghan has worn many hats - both as a Director and as a Mum to Sullivan and Olive. We take a closer look at her journey, balancing family life with the evolution of the brand, and discover how she makes it all work.

Q. Walk us through a typical morning in your home - what’s your getting ready and out the door ritual?

I like to be organised, so I make my lunch and pack my bag the night before. In the morning, I'm out the door around 5.50am after a quick peanana (1/2 a banana with a bit of peanut butter). After my workout, I shower at the gym and am usually at work by 7.30am. I really enjoy those quiet moments in the office before the team arrives and the day gets underway with meetings.

Q. We imagine your workdays are wonderfully varied - can you walk us through what a ‘typical’ workday looks like in your world?

To be honest there's no such thing as a typical workday for me. As Managing Director, my role is really about tackling priorities - and those can change daily. That's why starting my mornings at the gym is so important, its the one thing I can consistently control, along with being home by 6pm for dinner (I'm lucky enough that my hubby cooks every night). My days are usually filled with meetings, which I really value. For me, face-to-face conversations build stronger connections and are often a much faster, more effective way of working.

Q. Your home is so beautifully curated - how does it reflect your personality?

With young kids, Jimmy and I try strike a balance between creating a curated home and making sure it still feels like a place where the kids can truly be themselves. In many ways, our home reflects Repertoire's style - it's hard to work in a brand for so many years without it naturally rubbing off on you personally.

Q. What’s your favourite corner or feature in your home?

I love my spa with my big palm tee overlooking our beautiful view of the countryside. Our family spends a lot of time in the spa. It's the only time we really stop, talk, listen and connect because there's nothing you can do other than sit and talk.

Q. Are there textures or colours you love both in your wardrobe and in your interiors?

Does black count? Haha - I honestly love the colour black in my wardrobe and home. You could say it’s my dramatic dressing personality. I love it in my home because it hides dirt and marks that are inevitable with young families... and of course, our dog Frankie.

Q. In a few words, how would you define your style?

Elegant, Dramatic and Always Changing

Q. How does wearing Repertoire make you feel?

I've really only worn Repertoire over the past 19 years, and it makes me feel edgy, fashionable, and comfortable. I love the feel of the fabrics we use, each piece still feels special no matter what season it's from. I'm quite pedantic about caring for my clothes. no one else is allowed to wash them but me! Because Repertoire pieces are timeless and classic, they last for years. I love reinventing each piece season after season - it's always fun.

Q. What’s your favourite piece from August?

I already own the Iconic Skirt and Republic Pant in other fabrics, and they've become real workhorses in my wardrobe. The pants are especially great for both travel and weekends. But this month, my heart is set on the Kendra Hooded Parka.

Q. What Repertoire piece do you find yourself reaching for, time and time again without fail?

Haha - too easy... my Logan pants I’m obsessed!!!

Q. What’s your go-to way to relax when you’re off the clock?

Most nights I like to end the day with a spa - it's my instant way to relax, and I always sleep better afterwards. Wine used to be my favourite treat, but now that I'm 40 and pre-menopausal, even one glass can ruin my sleep!
